In an association going back over more than 30 years, Icon has delivered the signage and branding requirements of the event at no less than nine venues spreading from South-East England to the West coast of Scotland. Whilst both client and contractor have continued to evolve and develop, the traditional values that are the hallmark of the sport's oldest and most prestigious event prevail throughout - the result of a conscious effort to preserve its standards and principles.
In that time Icon's involvement in the event's branding programme has continued to grow, covering a wide range of areas including:
• The marketing and implementation of prime advertising sites
• Tented Village and Hospitality Complex signage
• Vehicular directional signage (including extensive surveying and reporting at each location)
• Patrons' Pavilion branding
• Crossing point and wayfinding signage
• Marquee fascia signage; several hundred metres of branded frontage at each course
• Flags, bibs, decals and sundry identification devices
• On course televised advertising boards
• Welcome Arches and special high-impact features
• City Dressing (On behalf of the local authority)
• External and internal pedestrian routing
This has resulted in Icon's unparalleled experience and understanding of The Open Championship branding and signage programme, and the high standards expected by the R&A.
